374th Airlift Wing PACAF Yokota AB, Japan C-9A, C-21A, C-130E/H, UH-1N 'YJ' 30th/36th/459th Airlift Squadrons

The unit was formed as the 374th Troop Carrier Wing in August 1948 at Harmon AFB, Guam with C-54s. The 374th moved to Tachikawa AB, Japan in March 1949, acquiring the C-46, C-47, C-119 and C-124 until inactivated in July 1957. The wing was reactivated at Naha AB, Okinawa in August 1966 with the C-130A and upgraded to the C-130E when the wing moved to Ching Chuan Kang AB, Taiwan in May 1971. The unit was relocated to Clark AB, Philippines in November 1973 and to Yokota AB, Japan in September 1989. Some of the 374th's aircraft were deployed to Thumrait, Oman for Desert Storm. The unit changed designation to 374th Airlift Wing at the end of 1991.
